Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

Clean XPSP3 + XUpdatePack

I get the following error when I go to Add\Remove Windows Component

Setup was unable to open information file xudpack.inf.
Contact your system administrator.  The specific error code is 0x2 at line 0.

Used RVMIntegrator to integrate the updatepack.

I saw this line in sysoc.inf
XUpdatePack=ocgen.dll,ocEntry,XUDPack.inf,HIDE,7

But couldn't find XUDPack.inf in C:\Windows\inf directory.

Please advice.

Re: Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

xable's update-pack is only supported by nLite and not RVMi...

Trivia: xudpack.inf is removed post-install along with it's syssoc entries as they aren't needed anymore, but that's not your problem, but the above...

Re: Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

v0id, RVMIntegrator doesn't properly slipstream my update packs, your install will have security holes if you use the RVMIntegrator.

The only method to securely slipstream my update packs is nLite. Try that and let me know how you get on.

Re: Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

I'm having similiar problem. XHelper.exe wont erase that line from sysoc.inf. Not sure that runonce ever occur.

edit: tried to just run xhelper, still not erasing that line.
edit2: xhelper not working right with non-english?

Re: Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

Okay. Solved it by recompiling the script.

Interesting, it's working here on an english source. I'll look into it, thanks simexi.

Indeed. I just unpacked and compiled again with latest autoit.

Re: Unable to AddRemove Windows Component

Can't find any reason for it to start to partially fail (it's running because the inf is deleted but sysoc isn't getting edited), but I've recompiled it anyway.

I can't reproduce this so v0id or simexi could you test this and tell me if you still get that error? Just copy it to your I386 folder after slipstreaming my update pack.

Cheers.
