No I haven`t to be honest. Sounds more like a seperate addon than an addition to this one though, it`s not needed to access windows/microsoft update or vice versa.

I have another similar question to the one I posted yesterday about WGAN... I understand that I only need one or the other of "Microsoft Update Engine" -v- "Windows Update Engine" so my question is this. I assume I do not need the Office Update Engine as this is part of Microsoft Update Engine. Is this correct?

Also Microsoft Update Engine does not replace the need for your XP-SP3 Update package correct? Just currious how these work... does windows installer actually use the Update Engine during install or is this just so that the update engine is available for use after install is complete without further download. I assume the later is true...

Thanks again

Have you considered adding the Microsoft Update Catalog into your pack?

With ^, still haven't found an addon for nLite with that update...

Re: Microsoft Update Engine v7.4.7600.226

Hi there.

Thanks for helping the community updating their disks.

BTW, I have noticed that Microsoft has updated their MUE:

<http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library … S.85).aspx>

With the following info:

*************************************************************
Where's the new docs 7.4.7600.226 is out              BryanLockwood ...  JGurtz   |   Edit   |   Show History

This KB is out of date:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949104

The wuredist.xml inside http://update.microsoft.com/redist/wuredist.cab is also out of date (reports 7.2.6001.788)

So we're left to hackery to figure out what the latest version is....

WSUS here is distributing 7.4.7600.226 since the last few days
Anyway, the three current links are:
x86:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/windo … 30-x86.exe
x64:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/windo … 30-x64.exe
Itanium:
http://download.windowsupdate.com/windo … 0-ia64.exe
*************************************************************

Just to let you know wink

Best regards,
