Re: SP2 Update Pack January Edition Support

Thank's for the january pack, Xable - As always, it's very much appreciated smile

I was just a little curious about the version numbering...

Had you first posted v3.0.7, and then later on fixed something and re-upped it as v3.0.7a, and if yes, then what was fixed ?

Just currious, though and nothing else smile

Lastly, then am i right in assuming that this month pack is smaller than usual, since my re-made ISO without the $OEM$ folder has shrinked from  about 117MB to about 107MB(with almost the same nLite preset, as i just re-added floppy support and changed from XUDPack v3.0.6 to v3.0.7a and used a fresh source).

I have deleted v3.0.6 allready, so i can't see how big that was...

Anyway, thank you once again for all your continued efforts smile

CU, Martin.

Re: SP2 Update Pack January Edition Support

Just wanted to report that the 'Add/Remove Windows Components' issue which gn!uz previously reported, cannot be reproduced on my end...

As always, everything works exactly as expected smile

No. and I`m sure I`ve said it before, all changes are logged in the changelog.. that`s what the changelog is for.

Thanks for your reply and for crosschecking the add/remove windows components.. I'll dig into this here to verify something else is causing this!

Another thingie is it seems in my image KB835221 is not included (The HDA Audio bus driver hotfix).. so having some issues with audiodrivers on specific hardware.. Again, it's probably something else causing this..

Re: SP2 Update Pack January Edition Support

Hi, Xable! Question: If I reintegrate KB943460 hotxix by nLite after updatepack, it solve problem with installing another hotfixes and "The installation cannot continue because the following packages might not be valid: KB943460, c:\wondows\system32\xpsp3res.dll, version 5.1.2600.3243"? Hotfix KB914440 (XPNetDiag) don't install correctly also, with this error. sad

gn!uz, I use addon 1-HDA from Petya Vase4kin's updatepack - and haven't problems with audio, modems, etc.

KB835221 is for 'Windows XP with SP1'.

What you need is KB888111, which is supported by 'Windows XP with SP2'.

Re: SP2 Update Pack January Edition Support

OK, Xable, thanks for your help. smile

Has solved a problem with KB943460 and KB914440 it is simple and elegant:
1. Has downloaded these hotfixes, has renamed in KB943460.exe and KB914440.exe, has then copied in a folder \I386\SVCPACK

2. Has unpacked svcpack.inf and has added in section [SetupHotfixesToRun] next lines:
[SetupHotfixesToRun]
KB942763.exe/quiet/norestart
KB943460.exe/quiet/norestart
KB914440.exe/quiet/norestart
(In such order!)

3. Has packed svcpack.inf back in cab and has put on the place in \I386

All done! smile Both hotfixes were perfectly installed in system (checked by QFECHECK /l )
