Hey Darren, thanks for the new update pack
I dont recall if you remember but i posted on your last updatepack remember ( i could not see the updates in xp under control panel) anyway. I slip your new pack in with nlite and its all good your updates show up.
I used nirsoft win updateslist to view the installed updates. I would also like to thank the user (sorry, forgot name) who pointed me to this application.
its all good, but just out of curiosity...
1.why they do not show in control panel, but with this application they do? (nirsoft win updateslist)
2.I also used aida64 and check updates in there too, one mysterious ones come up its Q147222 ????? huh?
3. I count 108 updates in your contenst but i only get 99 when combining totals with nirsoft and aida64 ??
Which means i have 99 of your 108 updates ?????? So where are the other 9 updates lol ????
not that worried but i would always like to learn new things ? I will google aswell.
I am not complaining at all, your update pack is far better than others i have used.....................thank you once again for all your hard work, and thanks again to the user who pointed me towards nirsoft win updateslist application.
few..done lol

Hi Ziggy, updates don't appear under the control pannel because they are not installed post install, they are slipstreamed directly into the windows install files.
To check if all updates are installed and installed correctly all you need is Windows Update. If it doesn't list an update then it is installed. qfecheck can tell you if there are any major problems with an installed update but the only way to be sure if an update is properly installed is to install it again and capture the installation with something like InCtrl5.
Other tools rely on registry info to tell you what is installed, but some updates don't install that registry info so it doesn't pick them up even if they are installed, neither do they check other things like file versions to confirm that they are fully installed.
I think that answers all your questions. If you have any more though fire away.
