I started nlite with Windows XP SP3 which was already slip-streamed with hotfixes up until December 2009
Your source files are the problem. When using my pack for the first time you have to start with a clean, unmodified source. After that you can slipsteam new versions of my pack "ontop" of the previous ones, so you don't need to start with a fresh source every month.

My installation became smaller when I slipstreamed your pack, that means nlite automatically removes any hotfixes that were superseded by the ones in the pack, right?
So I'm hoping all I have to do is slipsteam those six hotfixes into the installation and it would make the installation complete.

No, you need to start with a fresh source.
Trust me I wouldn't tell you to if it wasn't necessary, it shouldn't be a problem either if you have your original XP install disc. If you have lost your disc just contact microsoft for a replacement.
