I wouldn't usually ask, but I could really do with some more cash at the moment (couldn't we all) if you find my work usefull please feel free to make a donation, any amount will help and will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If not before, I'll see you on the 11th ;)
Today I decided install this update pack on "real" computer. To my surprise, these 10 dos windows poping up during the install slowed down the installation process, due to "safe mode" graphic card driver windows uses during GUI install, while in vmware I hardly could see them in short 5 seconds total they showed up... Basicaly each dos window was scrolling the text so slow, that it lasts about 5 seconds each. So, if its possible disable these windows would be a walcome solution
[EDIT]
Regarding WMP updates, maybe it would be a good idea remove them from the pack add them as an addon, for each WMP version separate addon?

Anyone using Maxthon browser?
I use it and it loads up about 40-50 tabs with different websites on startup. This is second time I use xable's update pack and second time Maxthon crashes after about 10-24 hours usage without computer restart. In fact the crash maybe speeded up if put computer to sleep (standby) for a while.
Unfortunetly I can't reproduce it at will, and the crash doesn't occur in the same file, sometimes its in jscript.dll, urlmon.dll or something IE related.
Using RyanVM's July update pack + all following updates, never have this problem ever...

Since Maxthon is just an IE front-end, the bug related to this IE6 update might very well apply. The december update log of RyanVM's package mentions this too; in fact, he's not even sure whether to include it or not.
Xable,
Not sure if you already seen this, but 942615 for IE6 has a bug and needs a registry fix as a workaround.
See this knowledge base article for details.
Cheers
I use Firefox myself, I only use IE6 for WU and web sites that aren't W3C compliant.
Edit: Microsoft re-released 942615 on December the 20th, see the link to the KB article above.

beats, Your getting confused. Microsoft didn`t re-release 942615.
FYI, even though I personaly use firefox I do do testing and never experienced any IE crashes. You would of heard otherwise and I would of included microsofts workaround, like I say IE is not my browser but I do testing and still use it to test development websites, while I don`t personnally use it it`s still necessary to support it.
Just so you people know if you didn`t already, my update pack includes strictly the High-Priority updates that appear on microsoft update each month. The only time I`ll update the pack before the next months cycle is if microsoft releases an out of cycle update, to either a current update on WU or a new one which is released to WU. At which time there would be a new release thread, version nuimber and changelog update.

Hi Xable,
This is a bit late. All the while, I was using Autopatcher so this is the first time I use the update pack.
I have tried it in Virtual PC and it was working fine. However, when I installed it into my computer, I encounter "Window File Protection - wrong version number" from time to time.
I removed the installation and re-install with Autopatcher and it is working fine.
Any idea what causes the error?
Btw, Happy 2008 and thank for your wonderful works.
regards,
cetrax

Hi cetrax, Sounds like a driver issue, did you install any with nLite or post install? Also post the contents of you Last Session.ini.
Happy new year to you too, you are very welcome.

Just had to say thanks a lot Xable. Been using your update packs for a couple of months now, and so far like them far more than Ryans update packs. Keep up the good work!!!
BTW...Any plans for Vista update packs....Maybe when Vista SP1 comes out?
I've upgraded to Windows XP from Vista for now for performance reasons...
