Well normal? It doesn't happen if you use the November edition and integrate KB942763 yourself with nLite.

KB941569 doesn't work either. Not sure why you removed it with a "please stay ontopic" comment. I've spent over 5 hours testing this. o.O

Yes normal, 942763 is a new update this month and nLite probably hides the windows!

I don`t see what your issue is, those windows show that the update is installing properly. Like I`ve said I will change it so the command windows aren`t visible but it really isn`t an issue, the update is installed properly.

I removed your offtopic addon talk.. use the addon support threads, that`s what their for.

As for 941569, it installs fine here and for many others. Most likely something your adding to the install is causing it to show up. If you can`t find out what it is on your own, post the contents of your .ini and I`ll see if I can track it down for you.

KB941569 is the Media Format Runtime for the Media Players. There is a different KB941569 Hot Fix for each Media Player Version. The KB941569 in the December Update Pack is for the default XP Media Player which I think is MP9. If you are upgrading Media Player, you have to download and add the version of KB941569 that applies to your Media Player version.

It's not just my issue. Several other members posted the same result. I doubt that nLite 'hides' the windows though, using ALT+F10 to open a console to run Task Manager doesn't show the +/- 2 minute delay when integrating 942763 with nLite.

ps. I know how to hide windows (using hidec.exe et all), that's not the issue. This odd behaviour is though.

I removed your offtopic addon talk.. use the addon support threads, that`s what their for.

Both 941569 and 905474 are listed as critical updates though. SP2 UPD is supposed to address all critical updates. I know 905474 is an addon but it is a critical one nevertheless. 941569 seems to fail no matter what I do using your update pack.

Like I said, I've used a clean SP2 ENU (corporate aka volume license) source with just the December pack and some of your Addons. Here's my nLite INI:

I know. The default is WMP9. I've even tried with booogies WMP11 slipstreamer + KB941569 for WMP11. It just seems to fail. WU keeps showing it.

Re: SP2 Update Pack December Edition Support

I also was wondering what where these dos windows popping up and for the moment they actualy showed for me, I only could see that it showed some "help" message for the program setup was executing, something like if you used a wrong key and it shows you the list of supported keys to run with...it doesn't look "normal" to me..

I've added KB941569 in nLite at the bottom of the list and it didnt show in WU.
P.S. I slipstream WMP11 before nLite.

OK, thank you. I haven't tried that yet.

When I tried WMP11, I used boooogies slipstreamer for the WMP11 hotfixes, so it could be a bug in nLite 1.4.1 or WMP Slipstreamer 0.96 as well.

nLite does hide any CMD windows that it runs.. being on the alpha team I should know.
I just looked at how nLite is slipstreaming 942763 and it`s not. It`s running the origional installer from SVCPACK, I considered this route origionally and may now take it instead of going around the houses to hide windows. So that explains why nLite isn`t showing the cmd windows in this case. Usually they are hidden.

FYI my update pack does address all critical issues.

Hi Paul, .net is not included in the pack so auto updates will offer it. You can see a full list of what`s included in the pack on the contents page.

Thanks Xable!

It's just weird.  I used the same Nlite cd with your pack on my sisters computer and .net framework doesn't appear as an automatic update.

Perhaps whether framework is an automatic update or not depends on how the computer is configured, whether it is networked etc etc.

Not an issue of course - and hardly worth writing to you smile  just weird is all.

Keep up the great work.  You and Nlite have made my computer boot up in less than 20 seconds (and run like a greyhound )which is fantastic!

Paul.

Re: SP2 Update Pack December Edition Support

I have problem with "Boooggy's WMP 11" when applying the December pack.
The WMP11 will not start after the XP installation. It said i need to reinstall wmp11 because the WMP11 is not correctly installed.

I don't know if this is related to the December Pack or not, when i switch back to Ryanvm pack, i am fine with Boooggy's WMP11.

I use both and have no problem as long as I run WMP11 slipstreamer before anything else (but after SP2 slipstream)
