Re: Retired - Office Update Engine/Office Genuine Advantage

I did a new build with your updated OUE-OGA-v1.7_addon.cab. The Window installation still fails. The full error message is: The file opuc.dll was not copied correctly. The file setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid Windows system image.

Ok I`ll do some testing. It should work because only the binary has changed, the standard functionality of the addon has not.

Re: Retired - Office Update Engine/Office Genuine Advantage

I did a new build with your updated OUE-OGA-v1.7 (which should be v1.7b). The Window installation now completes normally.

I installed Office 2003 and went to MS Office Update. It said "The previous web page might require the following add-on: Authzax.dll (Active x control)". Click here to download ---- Click here to allow it to run. Then it said: The previous page might require the following add-on: 'Microsoft Office update detection engine' from 'Microsoft Corporation (Unverified publisher)'. Click here to allow it to run.

So is this add-on doing what it is suppose to do?

Re: Retired - Office Update Engine/Office Genuine Advantage

If I didn`t do a silent update then it would of been 1.8 thank you very much.

Yes it`s doing what it`s supposed to do, I went to office update and wasn`t asked to install anything before checking for updates. Why you were asked I have no idea, possibly because I use office 2007 and you use office 2003.

Re: Retired - Office Update Engine/Office Genuine Advantage

If I go to "Microsoft Update", it does not require any downloads or require the Active X control to be run.

If I go to "Office Update", I have to do the downloads, the Active x control, and the Genuine Office dance.

Re: Retired - Office Update Engine/Office Genuine Advantage

Microsoft Update doesn`t use the office update engine so you wouldn`t be prompted to install it.

Again I`m not prompted to install anything, my guess is that office 2003 uses a different engine to office 2007. When I get time I`ll install office 2003 and see if I get prompted, but for office 2007 this addon works fine.

Hi,

There appears to be a new Office update engine. Any chance this addon can be updated?
