Re: Nice work Xable

Unfortunatly there are no specific tools that do it for you (although there are a few that help speed up the process)... all you need is notepad and the knowledge of updates and the windows setup routine.

I suggest looking at my pack and working out how it works, ask questions if your unsure.

Re: Nice work Xable

i got some for you

1 = entries.ini  is it just used for nlite or to run some of the stuff

2 = is all of the work just in XUDPack.ini

3 = why do you have a KB976098.exe   and not a  KB976098.cat

4 = (there are a few that help speed up the process) name of the tools?

and im not looking for one to do it for me

Thank You for any/all help

Re: Nice work Xable

Good, lets see..

entries.ini tells nLite what to edit on the CD, sort of a big config file.
XUDPack.inf is just a standard inf install file.
976089 -  in this rare case it isn't worth slipstreaming.

Handy apps:
RegToInf - Converting registry entries to inf format
SendToA3X - For the Directory List function
Hotfix EXtr4cT0r - Extracting updates
Beyond Compare 2 - Comparing text files

Re: Nice work Xable

It's up to you which branch you use, I use the GDR. There's a good explaination of the differences here.

Date differences are because of time zone differences, you can pull the date from the inf or the registry, it doesn't matter.
