spebph, So your installing IE7, well there`s the reason your seeing 956390 and 956391 on WU. There are different versions of those updates for IE6 and IE7 so of course this is normal. It`s up to you to update anything extra you add to your CD.

The pack is doing exactly what it`s designed to do and that is to update an XP SP3 IE6 install.

XUpdatePack-SP3-v1.0.7.7z not worked for me where can i find and download XUpdatePack-SP3-v1.0.6.7z ?

XUpdatePack-SP3-v1.0.6.7z was ok for me but i deleted by mistaken.

windows setup gives an error like missing manifest.

problem is asms>80>msft>windows>ATL80.DL_

also new sp2 update gives the same error.
used addons for sp2 (fewer for sp3)

That error is caused by slipstreaming a sp2 and sp3 update pack into the same source.

You don`t need both. Start with a clean source and slipstream the appropriate pack, either the sp2 one or sp3 one.

i have xp pro sp2 and seperate xp pro sp3.they are not the same source that i have tried to add updates & addons. i guess it would better i stick with the xpsp2 and XUpdatePack-SP2-v1.0.16.7z.maybe next update will be ok for me.thanx anyway.

Well the exact error would help better, the general one you posted sounded like this.

In any case starting with a clean source and slipstreaming just the update pack then working from there would help you find what is causing the error.

Your including so many things what makes you think it`s my update pack causing the error!

My pack doesn`t toutch ATL80.DL_ or the asms/80 folder at all so it`s unlikely to be my pack causing it, thought I`d try to help anyway.

It may also be the ASMSCompress option in nLite causing it. You just have to eliminate things untill you find the cause.

i found xable-SP3-UpdatePack-September-v1.0.4a.7z (1.0.6 would be better) and Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v1.3.0_ENU.7z (i dont know who prepared this one) and XUpdatePack-SP2-v1.0.16.7z

i have to try them with same config.

also you're right some addons updated this month so maybe some of them not work others or i don't know, i'm just confused i tried xp's many times.

i've just tried again and this folder "80" in asms does not come from update pack and also dotnet pack. if i should know where is it coming from my problem was solved.i have to try one by one.

and good luck narrowing it down, I`d probably suspect these first:

KB896256-v4-x86amd.exe
RogueSpearAddonsVC2005SP1.zip
RogueSpearAddonsVC2008.zip

although I rate RogueSpear so it`s probably not his stuff but maybe the first one.
