Hi malligan, that`s what WGA does, it tells you when your copy of windows is not genuine.

What i was trying to say is my window xp is legit i was trying to to make a xp cd with the wgav and that was the error it gave me without it its ok just was wondering im doing something wrong

Did you try leaving out my wga addon and manually instaling it when you visit windows update?

If your copy of xp is genuine and your sure you havn`t miss typed your product key wga is giving a fasle positive, which has been known to happen.

To remove wga type this in the run box and reboot.

regsvr32 /u LegitCheckControl.dll

Then visit windows update and let it install wga, it will most likely install an older version which might not give this false positive.

malligan, you should probably delete LegitCheckControl.dll after running that command aswell, windows update won`t download the older verison if the newer version is still present.

Let me know how it goes.

Would you mind checking what version of LegitCheckControl.dll windows update installed for you malligan?

If v1.9.9.1 is falsly reporting your install as non genuine but an older version doesn`t I`ll probably revert my wga addons to the earlyer version of wga.

In my italian winxp pro, MS Update download the legitcheckcontrol.dll at version 1.7.69.2, but today was released this:

In this updated wgan, this library is at version 1.9.40.0.

And a little OT here, but also the Office UE and OGA were update recently (noticed with a fresh Office 2003 setup). And guess what? opuc.dll has yet bad checksum...
